Week off with snoow

Hah we got a week off due to snow! kinda got sick of it but it was great to have the break and kick back in the snow :) 

Pod cast

Waheeey, we had a pod cast work shop :D it was soo good, there were mac computers set up in two classrooms and we had to record a pod cast and then we listened to them all at the end. Our pod cast was about different accents, like american, country, dublin, spanish and english. We pretending we were doing a news report on what people from other countries thought of ireland. it was really good and really fun to listen to it back because with all the effects you can use it doesnt sound like you at all :) everyone had sucha laugh making them and some were jsut so funny and good :)

Minico Product

Our minico product is a beauty book on how to get the look and look more natural and be comfortable in your own skin. We obviously know that we cant stop girls/women from wearing make-up so we are trying to achieve a book that helps them to tone down and get it right :) we are getting sponsorship from local businesses and international. we are going to have 5 sections: Hair, Make-up, Skin, Face& Body and Tips. We will have a website with a download and also a book :) the download will be5€ and the book will be 12€. We will possibly have a launch for our book with a demonstration at it, but there will be more details on that :) We have set up a facebook page and we have an email address and business cards :) 

Science lab trip

We went to a lab behind Weston. We were split into groups and given a tour of the lab. It was me and Steph in a group together. In my opinion the trip wasnt my favorite because i taught we were going to be doing experiments and it was a let down when we just got a tour of it. But it was interesting to see all the different jobs that are in a lab :) 

Minicoo Talk :D

Best minico talk yet! two of the schools werent there so it was only us and naas cbs :L The boys behind me and ciara had something to say for everything :L but it was a really good day, you learn alot and find out about the competition. One group had sold 450 of their product already @ €1 each! but they only imported theirs. everyone had really good ideas :) Afterwards we went to mcdonalds :D it was so yummy, i lovee minico talks! :)

Work Experience day one :)

Work experience day 1 :) - well today i went in a nervous wreck :L almost missed the stop (i forgot how short the journey was) but when i went in there i met the nicest people ever, they are all lovely to me and make me feel very welcome. I basically was shown the ropes of the shop, how to do invoices and perscriptions and working the till :) ive learned soo much, its great :) 

Work Experience!

WOW i am soo nervous! we had a talk on work experience today, and im more nervous coming out then going in. We learned all about what could go wrong while you're working there and i keep thinking its gona happen to me! :L But other than the nervousness im REALLY EXCITED! okay so im only going to work in a pharmacy, but it should still be alot of fun :) i really cant wait :D 

Dance, Dance, Dance (:

We started dancing this week, WOO :D basically we're learning a routine that we can perform on Ty night :D We did a warm up, and i know i was thinking "how am i going to do this?" i have two left feet basically :L but it was great craic and we danced to 'Only girl, StarStruck, A song by flo rida and sean kingston and Club cant even handle me' :D Banging choons :) 
It was soo much fun and i look forward to doing a bitta dancing the week after WORK EXPERIENCE! :D

MIDTERM!

Words cannot expalin how excited i am for midterm. A whole week of relaxing, lying in and FUN! We're going to time- underage obviously, on wednesday the 27th, its gona be TURBO :)

Accords Talk :D

Today we had a relationship and sexuality talk by accord :) Our speaker was called Margret. First we looked at relationships between us and our family. We looked at how the family is like a house and people only see the outside of the house not the basement or the foundation. People never know whats going on underneath everything. The we looked at relationships with your friends and how not to feel pressured into doing anything you don't want to do, weather its sexual or not. After that we looked at relationships between boys and girls, and how they think differently. Girls think boys just want sex, but Margret told us that this isnt true, They want a fun and humourous relationship and they're all about feeling relaxed. She told us about the 'boys bits' and 'girls bits' and the dieases you can attract from having sex.
I taught the course was really good and it taught me alot about realtionships and sex and i feel it was very valuable.

Minico trip X2 :D

We had another minicompany trip :D it was in naas mote theatre again! we were there with, clane school, st.pauls and monestrevin. The bus journey there was fun, we sang out the oldies and the newbies, Niamh Plunkett sang to her hearts content, Blaring out 'LIVING ON A PRAYER'. We all 'spat' love the way you lie by eminem and rihanna and the whole back of the bus joined in.
I sat beside Niamh Carr on the way there :D.
When we got to mote theatre late and all the other schools had already arrived. We had to get project managers to stand up and Orla picked a few to say other their mini companies. Our mincompany was never picked on :L.
My group is setting up a link between another school, i think it's clane, where there mini company is an advertising website and we pay them €15 for 3months to advertise our website. 
Afterwards we got to go to MCDONALDS, and i got a nice mcchicken sandwhich and chips :D
On the way hime we got a double decker bus :O and i sat beside Ciara Burke from class Emnet :)
It was a pretty deadly day :D

Colour me BEAUTIFUL :D

Last week both Ty classes, Emnet and Amina had a talk by colour me beautiful. The course involved finding colours in clothes and makeup that suit your, eye colour, skin colour and hair colour. I was put in the soft group. Which ment that neutral colours suited me,
 like light browns, nude, camel, khaki/moss, terrocota, salmon, peach, brick red, tan, pirple-medium, coral, beige and cream(rosey white). 
I learned that dark coulours dont really suit me like black and deep red. I also learned that black makep doesnt suit me, so i should be using a very dark brown eyeliner. Both of the women were very nice :). I found out that coral blusher suited me which is great because my favorite blusher is coralista by benefit.
I found out my style personality is romantic, which means i like to get dressed up and look girly, i take ages to get ready and that means like 2-3days rather than 2-3 hours for an event.
The colour coats that suit me are: stone, pewter, charcoal, spruce, sky blue, dawson, claret and turquise.
Eye colour: Melon, smoke, greyed green and pewter.
Eyeliner: Brown- dark.
Lips: Coral, breeze, dune and natural.
Cheeks: Sienna and Coral.
When i went home i found that most of the clothes in wardrode matched my style personality and my colour (soft), this made me feel good that i wear clothes that suit my skin/hair/eye colour.
Overall this was a great course and i found it- TURBO. :D

Mini companiess :DD

We had mini companies today :D well we had to come up with new ideas because we originally had a book on how to get ready but the woman from Kildare enterprise boards said that too many books enter the competition. So today in mini companies we were trying to decide on another product when we decided that we can still do our book idea but we can make a website and you can download it or purchase the book  online :) we will get advertisements from local pharmacies and businesses and they will  pay for space on our website. We are all very happy with our idea and hope it will sell, everyone of us is focused and is willing to put the effort into it :). Then in tech we had to design our product but there wasn't much we could do in that class so we just did some research on logos and which would look best for our company. In the second class of mini company we were in the computer room (where i am now :D) and we made our surveys to give to students in our school. We also found a book company that we are hoping will print the book for us at a reasonable price when we need them. We had to send them an email to look for prices and if the could make the book the way we want :D we are hoping for an email back to see if their prices aren't too bad :) We also got permission off our principal Mrs Barry today, thanks to Orlaigh writing out an email :). Hopefully this book will be a success and we will do well in the competition in January :). Our book will be called 'real beauty, real girls' and put strap line is '...it's you'. We are hoping to make the book look young but classy so people will be drawn to it :).

Jc Results :)

Well, we got the Junior cert results on the 15th September 2010 and we were all buzzing with excitement from the moment we woke up. 9.05 that morning we walked into our class rooms for a dread half day of classes, we taught the day couldnt go any slower. then at 12.40 we were all called into the hall and put into our 1st-3rd year base classes. It was weird being in a line with the people who went into 5th year. We were only waiting 10minutes before we were handed the brown envelope and we ripped it open to see what we got. Everyone was really happy with there results and we could look forward to a night out. 
We went to Time in Naas by the way, and we had an amazing night! :)  

Geography Project :)

We are doing a project in groups for geography, I am in a group with Orlaigh Kennard and Stephanie Hanan. We have to do a project on the first, second and third world countires where we visit them and write about our trip and experience. I am doing a project on the first world countries. The first world countries i have chosen are, Japan And Australia. I chose Japan because i am interesred in japanese culture and fashion, and i find the japanese very interesting because they are very intellegent and are highly advanced in technology. The capital of Japan is Tokyo and it has a very busy nightlife. There are markets and stall everywhere, where you can buy new and interesting things.

Fun walk :D

The fun walk 2010 was different. Instead of the usual dressing up and walking forever, we were only allowed wear a coloured top with navy tracksuit bottoms, alot of people were complaining about this but it was because parents rang up complaining about how much we had to spend. We also had to make a dance up and dance in front of the whole school. We danced to reach for the stars by Sclub 7 because everyone had to dance to a song to do with friendship because it was friendship week in our school! Ms O.C our tutor dressed as a star and at the end of the dance we had a big finale where she ran up people who had their hands linked like a stairs then fell back into their arms :) Then some of the tys were doing traffic directing like me. Me, Orlaigh, Jessica and Rachel were put at scoil na monistrach to do traffic directing we had to wait for everyone to go back where as the people on the other side of the road got to go back to the school when everyone passed them! Me and Orlaigh were on a hyper buzz! we ran the walk back to the school, well jogged it. When we got back we had a "RAVE" in the courtyard and had some bars :D pretty good day :)

Minicompany talk in naas mote theatre!

We went to Naas mote theatre for a talk on mini companies. We were there with 4 or 5 others schools. We had a talk on ideas for mini companies and what would be a good idea and what sells the most. We watched short movies about previous mini company competitions, to get a look on the winners in the previous years. Then the woman who was hosting it got us to come up with 50 ideas in our mini company groups. This was really helpful because it made us actually think about products to sell after watching the short movies. It was really fun and after it we went to McDonalds :D I didn't have any money but Ciara was nice and bought me the nicest cookie ever! We went on a bus up and back and for some reason there was this man on our bus back? He got off in Clane i think, we went a longer way just to bring him there? didn't bother me if we got back to school late though. We  got back at lunch time (1.20) so we still had are evening classes :( We have 3 more sessions in the mote theatre and the one on one sessions in our schools before christmas. After our first workshop we really have to get stuck in now! 

Carlingford :DD

On the 13th and 14th of september we went to carlingford lough adventure centre. All 60 ty students went. It was AMAZING! We left the esso garage at 7 in the morning on monday and arrived at half 8 that day. We started off by getting settled into our rooms. There was 12 people in my room and we're all really good friends so we were really happy :) ..in my room was karen, orlaigh, ciara, grace, alison, stephanie, niamh, niamh, niamh ,aoife, laura and myself:) we had a drawer full of sweets to keep us going through the night. That morning we had activites Outdoors where we had to work as a team to find the quickest way to do the tasks. then at half one we had lunch which was chicken nuggets and chips and we could get as many as we like which i liked alot :) then after that we had watersports, where we went canoing and we had three big canoes tied together. our instructor on the canoes was called diarmuid, to keep us motivated he called out PADDLE so we would know when to paddle, we all jumped out of the canoes into the water which was FREEZING! but we had wetsuits on so we got used to it. We had to get paddling back to the shore by a little speed boat because our boat was going to slow. then after we brought all the boats back we went piar jumping. i was really afraid of heights and i didnt want to do it. there was a high piar and a low piar, i only jumped off the low piar twice. afterwards i taught it was really fun :) after the piar jumping we went for dinner which was stew, i dotn really like stew but i taught it was really nice :) and we had icecream for dessert with chocolate sauce :D after dinner we had an hour free time and then we went on a little hike up a hill. it was really really FUN :D 

Social development day :D

On Monday the 6^th of September class Amina had a social development day in the library. We worked in groups and we’re put into them according to our personalities. We got red, blue, green and yellow cards each meaning something else. The red cards were the people who were very direct and liked to be the leader. They were also very impatient; they were represented by a bull. The blue cards were people who think logically and are comfortable in silences. They always take time to work out an answer; they were represented by a cat. The green cards were people who were very calm and caring. They always think about other people, they were represented by a dog. The yellow cards were for people who love a laugh they are always trying to make people laugh and be happy, they were represented by a MAD cow.   

The guest speaker was called Austin. He talked to us how people think and see things differently. He showed us a picture of an old woman and in the picture was a young woman. He wanted to know who could only see the young woman, the old woman or both. I could see both of the women in the picture. 

it was such a good day and we learned alot about ourselves. i also learned how to work as a group propperly. i taught the whole day was a good buzz :D

Ty week one :)

I’m in ty class AminaJ. We started ty this week on the 31^st of august 2010. We have to do all the subjects like art, tech, music, home Ec, mini companies, Spanish, and all the other basic subjectsJ. We had pastoral care on the first day where we played speed dating with each other. I was partnered with Niamh Plunkett and I had to learn her favourite part of the summer, her favourite music, her zodiac sign and her interestsJ. We also had Home Ec where we were given our Home Ec projects and groups. I’m in a group with Niamh, Bebhinn and Róisín. We have to make an outfit out of a white t-shirt and jeans. My group is making a breakfast at tiffany’s style outfit. In art class we had to draw an item to show off our abilities. I was a bit nervous about this as I’m not the best at drawing. I gave drawing a teapot a go and it wasn’t too bad if I’m being honest. In science we got put into our groups for the young scientist. In my group is myself, Ciara and SaidhbhJ. We have to come up with an idea to do a project on for it. That sums up ty week one. It was really just about getting settled. We have a bonding day on Monday and a bonding trip to Carlingford on the 13^th and 14^th of September J CANT WAIT J
